Context

Redis 8 changed its license, and the MinIO server stopped being maintained as open source.

Decision

Offer Valkey as the Redis-compatible service and RustFS for S3-compatible storage. Valkey is built from source for macOS; RustFS uses its release binaries.

Consequences

Projects using Redis or S3 clients keep working with the same settings.

On macOS, Redis itself is now offered beside Valkey, which stays: see 0077.
