Questions
What happens when my trial or license ends?
Sites, runtimes, HTTPS, dumps and logs keep working. Pro features stop starting: services and shares already running keep going until you stop them, and nothing is deleted. You can still back up and export every database. Buy or renew and everything's back as it was.
Does Short Leash need to be online?
Only now and then. Short Leash checks your license with Polar about once a day, and Short Leash Pro stays on for 30 days without a check, so a flight or a week offline changes nothing. Short Leash Pro and licenses
How do I move Short Leash Pro to a new computer?
A license works on 2 computers at once. On the old one, choose Deactivate this computer in Settings › License. If it's gone, free it in Manage license. Then enter your key on the new one.
Who handles payment?
Polar, as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, charges the right sales tax or VAT, sends the receipt and emails your license key. Short Leash never sees your card.
Will the price go up when I renew?
Not while you stay subscribed. Sign up by December 31, 2026 and $49 a year is locked in for as long as you stay subscribed. New buyers pay $79 from January 1, 2027. Cancel and come back later, and it's $79.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time in Manage license. Short Leash Pro stays on until the end of the year you paid for, and the free core keeps working after that.
