Is the download safe?
The Mac app is signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple, so macOS opens it like any other app.
The Windows installer is signed through Azure Artifact Signing, so Windows can show who published it. Until the signature has built up a reputation, Windows may still say Windows protected your PC the first time: choose More info, then Run anyway.
Updates are signed with Short Leash's own key, and Short Leash refuses an update whose signature doesn't match. The runtimes and services it downloads later are checked too. How Short Leash treats your computer

After you download it
- Open Short Leash.On a Mac, drag it to Applications first. On Windows, run the installer; it installs for your user account.
- Run setup once.It asks for administrator rights once, to set up .test addresses and trusted HTTPS.
- Add your projects.Park a folder and every project in it gets its own address: leash park ~/Code. The install guide

What do I need to run Short Leash?
A Mac with macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel, or a PC with Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Setup asks for administrator rights once; the rest of Short Leash runs as you.
