Send a request and see everything it caused
Calls is Short Leash's HTTP client for your sites. Each answer comes with What it caused, the request's dumps, its queries with Explain, its log lines and the mail that arrived while it ran.

On northwind's Calls page, the Create order call sends POST /api/orders. The answer is 201 Created in 184 ms, and What it caused lists what the request made happen on the site: one dump with its file and line, three queries, each with Explain, a log line saying order 1042 was created, and the order confirmation mail.
What it caused, next to the answer
Short Leash's proxy gives every request an id, so What it caused lists only what that request did: each dump() with its file and line, each query with its time and Explain, and its log lines. Mail is matched by time, and says so.
Open in Requests shows the request as the site received it, with its full trace.
- Dumps, queries and log lines from PHP sites
- Send to the site or its share URL with the same calls
- History keeps each site's last 500 sends

Start from your routes, or what you already have
Import routes turns a Laravel or Symfony site's own routes into calls, one per route and method, in folders by path. Routes behind auth:sanctum come signed in.
Bring the rest from a file or a pasted curl command. Keep in project folder writes the calls as YAML for your team to commit; secret values stay out.
Sign in, check the answer, run them all
Auth covers Basic, Bearer token, API key, Laravel Sanctum sign-in and OAuth 2, with client credentials or a PKCE sign-in that comes back to the site's own address. Secret values live in a file only your account can read.
Checks compare the status, a header, a JSON value or the time with no code to write, and Keep for the next call passes values along. Run every call sends them in order.

Questions
Is there an HTTP client built into a local development app?
Yes. Calls is part of Short Leash Pro, with a 14-day trial and no account, and your calls stay on your computer unless you choose to keep them in the project folder.
Can I import my Postman collection?
Yes. Import takes Postman collections and environments, OpenAPI 3.0 and 3.1, Insomnia, Bruno, .http files, HAR and curl commands. Scripts in them are left out, with a note.
How do I test routes behind Laravel Sanctum?
Choose Laravel Sanctum sign-in under Auth. Short Leash gets the CSRF cookie, signs in with the email and password you give it, and keeps the session for every call to the site after that.
Can I run my API calls in CI?
leash call run sends every saved call in order, each with what the ones before it kept, and exits with 1 when a call fails.
